'Six months after we shoot this, I feel like I'm watching the season brand new like everyone else,' admits Elaine.
Hester Sunshine (Season 17) and Bishme Cromartie (Season 17) seek victoryĪs viewers root for their favorite to win the $250,000 prize (thanks to Pilot FriXion Erasable Pens), a career-changing mentorship with the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), and a feature in Elle magazine, so too are the judges. 'But don't get it twisted, there's still incredible amounts of drama, especially towards the end - it got really real.' 'It was fierce competition but there was this beautiful interaction between the OGs and the newer designers that were really reverent to them they looked up to them and were learning from each other in the workroom in a way that was unique to this season. 'But I have to give credit to the OGs who served as mentors in the workroom, they were very mature and set a standard for collaboration in a way that was really awesome to see,' says Elaine. The presence of an all-star cast comprising the crème de la crème of past contestants means the competition is bound to reach new heights of intensity and creativity. 'The egos are bigger, the stakes are higher, and the talent is on another level, so as you can imagine there's a lot of drama on this season,' shares Elaine. It wouldn't be a reality show with a little (or a lot!) of drama 'When you get that shot again, there's a lot of anxiousness and emotion because you're so close to winning,' says Brandon Maxwell.
